Hi, I’m Mysterious Witt--or Emme Witt as I'm also known--and I’m a storyteller from Los Angeles, California. What do I tell stories about? My life. I’ve had a pretty interesting one.
After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in History, I went to work for Larry Flynt. Yes, that’s Larry Flynt of Hustler fame. And yes, I published articles in Hustler amongst the other magazines produced by the porn magnate.
But I wasn’t made for the office cubicle. I didn’t enjoy the 9-5 even if the company was unconventional. I found my “out” when a friend of mine said she’d train me as a dominatrix.
Besides, I needed money. I was making documentaries about "Spanish rock" bands, flying back and forth between L.A. and Mexico. I needed more cash than Larry Flynt was paying.
I took this friend up on her offer and before I knew it, I was a successful professional domme in Los Angeles. I made a lot of money at the gig, and so after a couple of years of domming, I decided to travel the world.
I began in Europe but didn’t make it farther than Spain. I settled in Barcelona where I lived for four and a half years. I worked as a dominatrix in a Barcelona-based dungeon and also began to write for Spanish Playboy. A major Spanish publisher further released my memoir about my dominatrix experience in paperback form.
But something was missing from my life. I wanted a family. I was having trouble finding a serious relationship with a man, what with going on live TV to explain to mainstream Spanish audiences how to dominate dudes. I couldn't lead a normal life. I couldn't date. I finally left it all behind and returned to the States.
That's when I met my husband-to-be, a man who I thought was a "nice Jewish guy." We were soon married and had two sons together.
While my boys were in preschool, I went back to school. First, I did a two-year program at Writer's Boot Camp in Santa Monica in screenwriting. Then I got my M.F.A. in Fiction Writing from Otis College of Art and Design.
I didn’t work a day job while I was married. I tried to be the perfect "stay-home mom." I was also trying to write successful screenplays and novels. That was going very well though.
I was wracked with self-doubt. To this day, I have several unpublished novels and a couple of screenplays lying around my place. I should have pushed through my fears, but I couldn't. And unfortunately, not bringing in income while I was married would prove to be a big mistake.
My relationship with my husband was rocky from the get-go. I'd gone to therapy in Spain but still had a lot of issues from my childhood to work through. He did, too. My husband and I would try to make things work, going to marriage counseling, et cetera, but ultimately we stopped having sex.
We would finally divorce and I'd find out he cheated on me. In my depressed state, I desperately had to find a way to make a living again, this time as a single mom.
Honestly, it was never a question of how I'd get by. I had trained in graduate school to be a professor, but getting a job teaching English 101 at a junior college held no interest to me.
I seamlessly returned to pro-domming. I'd pulled myself out of financial duress once doing that job. I'd do it again.
During this period, I tried escorting as well (the money was even better), but I found I didn’t like it very much. I focused solely on my craft as a professional dominatrix. To this day, I still make a portion of my income from online domme work.
During this period, I also discovered Medium. Here, I began to write about my unique life, this time under a pseudonym. Why do I use a nom de plume? To protect my sons.
I hope you can understand and respect that. While it's important to crack stereotypes about sex workers, I also have to take into account the needs of my two underage children.
Here, I also create steamy, yet educational stories about my sexcapades. Many of these stories can be found in my work-in-progress memoir about my dating journey after my divorce, entitled Sex-Starved. Check it out if you have a chance. It's currently ranked #1 in the memoir category on Wattpad!
I've also been branching out into vlogging. Check out my channel on YouTube.
Thanks for reading. And oh yeah, that's a real photo of me below.
